John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Kelly’s 2009 senior portraits in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We headed out to First Landing State Park to shoot this series of portraits on the various hiking trails, taking full advantage of the first warm winter day we’ve had so far. I’d like to thank Kelly for trusting my vision that photographing a pretty girl in a desolate environment would produce some lovely portraits. We all had a really fun time, and she and her parents have agreed to have me shoot a second session of senior portraits once the weather warms up and Hampton Roads turns green again.

John Cachero Photography’s portrait photography was featured recently on the blog for The 6 Million People Project highlighting the contributions I’ve made so far to the group; many of which can be found in my newly added “Portraits” gallery on my Portfolio site. I’m excited by this recognition and I intend to continue to contribute portraits to the group until they reach their goal. As of writing this, 13,415 members are in the group and over 82,000 unique portraits have been added. Their goal is simple, but important:
“The 6 Million People Project at Flickr is collecting pictures of 6 million people, one portrait at a time. The photo pool stands a tribute to the 6 million Jewish people and millions of others who died during the Nazi Holocaust.”
If you’re a Flickr member, there is no reason why you shouldn’t participate in this group.

John Cachero Photography was hired to photograph the opening day of Local Heroes Comics in Norfolk, Virginia. Local Heroes Comics, which is located right next door to Cogan’s Pizza, is Ghent’s only comic book and graphic novel store. The owners, Greg and Meredith, were fantastic to work with, and as a comic book geek myself, I’m so excited that they filled a niche missing from the downtown Norfolk community. Welcome them to the area by giving them a visit.
