John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Jenni M., a model looking to expand her portfolio, on the beach at Little Island Park in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach,  Virginia.  A photographer friend of mine, Eric Fadden, had worked with Jenni before and set up this session with her for us.

As such, I let Eric work with Jenni first.  When it was my turn to work with Jenni, I simply asked her what shots she needed for her portfolio and she told me she was interested in general fashion photography shots and headshots.  Once we started, we quickly got comfortable with each other.  By showing her some of the shots we were getting, I gained her trust in my ability behind the lens which allowed her to shine in front of the lens.  Although she had her own repertoire of poses and expressions, she was very accommodating when trying the poses and expressions that I suggested.  Jenni was very easy going and lots of fun, and I very much look forward to working with her again.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Jen and John, who celebrated their wedding reception at the Gwinnett Environmental And Heritage Center just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.  Having had an intimate destination wedding in Hawaii, they decided to have a Hawaiian-themed reception for the rest of their family and friends back on the mainland.  I was especially honored to have been asked to shoot their reception because John is a great friend and fraternity brother of mine.  This is my gift to them.

At the end of this post, I included photos documenting our fraternity’s time-honored tradition of delivering a pie to the face of a brother on his wedding day.  We usually TRY to coordinate with the hired photographer roughly when it’s going to happen, but in this case, obviously, it wasn’t going to be a problem.  In fact, I helped set John up for the hit by insisting that he pose for a photo with his Hampton Roads buddies who were also in on the plan.  First, John’s actual brother, Robbie hit him with a pie from behind which, for whatever reason, didn’t stay stuck on his face.  That’s okay, because Kevin hit him with a second pie to finish off the job.  Good times.

(…and just for fun, I also took two pies to the face on my wedding day.)

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Kelly and Marty, who celebrated their wedding cermony in Renaissance Court and their reception in Baker Hall in the gorgeous Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.

While I was with Kelly as she and the ladies got ready, and Jesse Courtemanche was with Marty and the fellas, we all remained in high spirits despite the sporadic downfall of rain.  Leaving the hotels on the way to Botanical Gardens, however, the rain started coming down hard and threatened to put a damper on our day.  Fortunately, as soon as Kelly was in her wedding dress, we were blessed by the weather, and the rain stopped just long enough for Kelly and Marty to have the beautiful outdoor wedding they had been waiting for.  As much fun as I had shooting their engagement portraits, I had even more fun capturing their wedding day.  Thanks, you two, and congratulations!
