John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Traci’s 2010 senior portraits in Norfolk, Virginia.  Even though Traci is a student in Chesapeake, Virginia, she indulged my suggestion that we explore the Waterside Marina and the newly renovated Town Point Park in downtown Norfolk.  I met Traci through her sister, Linda, whose engagement portraits and wedding I had shot earlier this year.  And just like the time I had spent with her sister, Traci and I started having fun during our shoot once I quickly gained her trust in me behind the camera, which allowed her to relax in front of the camera, which, in turn, led to some fantastic portraits.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing C.J. and Mike’s family portraits in Norfolk, Virginia.  C.J. was only a couple weeks from giving birth, so they wanted photos to make a photo book keepsake for their newborn son as well as a family portrait to use in their announcements that their bundle of joy has arrived.

We only had less than an hour between that morning’s rain storm and the rain storm that came down on us to end the session, but we were able to boogie through all the set-ups we were hoping to capture.  C.J. and Mike’s oldest son was a natural in front of the camera, and even though the little one got a little fussy, we managed to nail some shots with him smiling… but, as always, the fussy shots turn out great as well.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Jenni M., a model looking to expand her portfolio, on the beach at Little Island Park in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach,  Virginia.  A photographer friend of mine, Eric Fadden, had worked with Jenni before and set up this session with her for us.

As such, I let Eric work with Jenni first.  When it was my turn to work with Jenni, I simply asked her what shots she needed for her portfolio and she told me she was interested in general fashion photography shots and headshots.  Once we started, we quickly got comfortable with each other.  By showing her some of the shots we were getting, I gained her trust in my ability behind the lens which allowed her to shine in front of the lens.  Although she had her own repertoire of poses and expressions, she was very accommodating when trying the poses and expressions that I suggested.  Jenni was very easy going and lots of fun, and I very much look forward to working with her again.
