John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Jenni M., a model looking to expand her portfolio, on the beach at Little Island Park in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach,  Virginia.  A photographer friend of mine, Eric Fadden, had worked with Jenni before and set up this session with her for us.

As such, I let Eric work with Jenni first.  When it was my turn to work with Jenni, I simply asked her what shots she needed for her portfolio and she told me she was interested in general fashion photography shots and headshots.  Once we started, we quickly got comfortable with each other.  By showing her some of the shots we were getting, I gained her trust in my ability behind the lens which allowed her to shine in front of the lens.  Although she had her own repertoire of poses and expressions, she was very accommodating when trying the poses and expressions that I suggested.  Jenni was very easy going and lots of fun, and I very much look forward to working with her again.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Linda and Travis’ engagement portraits on and around the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier at the Virginia Beach, Virginia oceanfront.  Shooting on the busy pier proved to be a fun exercise in patience, and I have to hand it to Linda and Travis for staying in the moment for me as we landed certain shots.  After finishing up on top of the pier, we ventured under the pier and onto the beach for more shots.  We finished the session on the oceanfront boardwalk as the setting sun graced us with her golden light.  Here are a few of my favorite shots of Linda and Travis:

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Shannon’s 2009 senior portraits in Chesapeake, Virginia.  Although we both had ideas about where we could go to shoot this session, we decided to just take advantage of her family’s beautiful backyard as well as the rest of her amazing neighborhood.  I had a great time shooting her portraits, and at the end of the session, I really believed her when she exclaimed, “That was really fun!”  I’d like to thank Shannon’s mom who, at first, was going to stick around for the entire shoot, but then decided her presence might cause unnecessary pressure, and instead, spent the session inside the house.  I personally don’t mind if parents watch when I’m photographing their children, but with no one else around, Shannon was able to really relax, to enjoy her time in front of the lens, and to completely put her trust in me behind the lens, and this really shines through in her senior portraits.
