Although John Cachero Photography took a planned hiatus from wedding photography in Hampton Roads at the peak of the wedding season, I assure you, I have shot weddings in 2010! The following is a quick sneak peek at some of what I’ve already shot this year and the Hampton Roads wedding venues at which I shot them:
As an added bonus, at the top of this post, I’ve included a shot of the little bundle of joy that may or may not be the reason why I’m behind blogging all of my photography endeavors. (My daughter is ABSOLUTELY worth it.)
Enjoy.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Stephen, who celebrated their wedding ceremony and reception at the Bay Front Club in Norfolk, Virginia. This festive wedding took place in the community of East Beach in the newly, beautifully redeveloped East Ocean View peninsula. In the midst of shooting there, I often forgot that I was in Norfolk because the look and feel of the East Beach community is nothing like I was used to seeing in Ocean View.
At the beginning of our initial consultation, Jessica and Stephen let me know that their choice for wedding photographer was between myself and another very well-established photographer in the area whose work I completely admire. At the end of said consultation, we were signing my contracts because they felt my laid-back and personable, but professional demeanor would be a better fit for them. (I tell all potential clients whether they hire me or not, they should make sure of two things: 1) that the photographer is willing to show you an entire wedding set to ensure they are capable of shooting an entire wedding well, not just the few shots in a portfolio, and 2) that your personalities mesh well because your photographer will be with you for pretty much the entire day.)
The decision they made definitely worked out in everyone’s favor because Jessica and Stephen were a riot and I seriously had so much fun shooting this wedding, and according to the text messages I got from Jessica the next day, she had nothing but thanks and praise to deliver from herself and her friends and family in attendance.
Thank you for sharing your joy and love with me on this day, and I wish you two all the best.
Here are some of my favorite shots from this wedding.

John Cachero Photography had the pleasure of photographing April and Jonathan, who celebrated their wedding ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk, Virginia and their wedding reception at The Cape Henry Inn And Beach Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
April was the second bridesmaid from Deanne and David’s wedding to hire me to shoot her wedding after being impressed with the results of my work (the first bridesmaid to hire me, Melissa, booked me to shoot her wedding a few weeks before this one). In addition, Jonathan happens to be David’s youngest brother, so I had to live up to quite a reputation going into this wedding. I was prepared to shoot the lights out.
That morning, we were blessed with sunny skies, but Hurricane Bill threatened to make landfall at some point during April and Jonathan’s day. Not long after the ceremony, Hurricane Bill decided to sit right off the coast of Virginia Beach, unleashing plenty of rain on our beachfront reception site at Fort Story. Hoping that they’d be troopers, I grabbed two large umbrellas from my car and asked the newlyweds if they wanted to go shoot portraits in the rain. With the help of Jonathan’s oldest brother, Jeremiah, holding an umbrella over me, the four of us ventured out into the weather and managed to capture some of my favorite portraits I’ve shot thus far.
Thanks, April and Jonathan… you were awesome. Congratulations!
Here are some of my favorite shots from the entire wedding.
